Worship Ministry
Psalm 63:

2) So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
3) Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
4) Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.

John 4:23 ~ But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

  • As worship leaders, our heart is to worship in a transparent way. True worship can't be "faked." As such, we make it personal... (even though our worship is expressed in public during the service). The realization of the fact that the Lord is "crazy about us" drives us to a deep desire to acknowledge and thank Him for redeeming us.
  • ATTITUDE OF WORSHIP produces greater skill over time
    Psalm 1 ~ Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2) But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.
    An attitude of worship draws us to a place of praise. Worshipers don't just worship on Sunday, we worship all the time. I imagine if you followed a worshiper around, you'd find them singing, or playing their instrument instead of many other activities. As such, the skill of a beginner musician/vocalist naturally grows over time. Worshipping the King of Kings, changes us, transforms us. We need it. Thus, a highly skilled musician or vocalist who thinks they are "helping out the worship team" is not a fit. Skill is wonderful, but someone who just loves to worship and is willing to be transparent in their worship is a blessing and one who's skill set will grow.

  • TRANSPARENCY IN WORSHIP allows Jesus to be seen
    1 Peter 2:9 ~ But you are a chosen geeration, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
    Did you know that if you are saved, you are named a royal priesthood? As the redeemed of the Lord, we are called a royal priesthood (a pretty cool and exclusive appointment). What do the priests do? "Offer up spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 2:5)
    Why does God want you to be a priest? To declare the praises of the God who saved you and set you free! We worship and help others see the truth of a redeemed condition. Transparency comes with the willingness to embrace the role that God gave every one of His redeemed. When we become transparent, you won't see the person, you will see Jesus and worshippers who adore Him.
