women's ministry

If you are interested in joining either the Tuesday night or Wednesday morning Zoom Bible study, please email womensministry@calvaryslc.org with your name and email and the study you would like to attend.

The Women's Ministry at Calvary Salt Lake is designed to follow the teachings in Titus 2 which tells us to teach sound doctrine, live honorable and godly lives, being a good example to one another. We try to accomplish this through Bible Studies, Retreats, Conferences, Luncheons, and many more Outreach Events designed just for women. Our desire is to grow in the knowledge and wisdom of the Word of God, develop life long friendships with one another, and just enjoy life together.

MINISTRY VERSE

But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things - that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. - Titus 2:1-5

DUE TO THE DIRECTIVES OF THE GOVERNMENT, OUR NEW TUESDAY WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 23, 2021 WILL BE HELD IN THE REIGN FOREST WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING AND ON ZOOM.

Has it ever dawned on you that nothing has ever dawned on God? He knew before the world began that His people would face hardship, so He gave us His Word. The Book of Ephesians is a survival manual—it equips believers to thrive in a world that hates the message of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle writes to encourage believers to live well—we've been lifted from the graveyard of sin and called to shout the gospel into the darkened world. Pastor and author J.D. Greear walks through the powerful words of Paul. In 9 sessions, J.D. digs into the text of Ephesians verse-by-verse and challenges believers to live out the gospel. If the people of your city, of your school, of your family are going to hear the gospel, it's going to be from your mouth. Encounter Ephesians, and get swept up into the story of Jesus.

DUE TO THE DIRECTIVES OF THE GOVERNMENT, OUR WEDNESDAY WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY IS HELD AT CALVARY IN THE DELI WITH LIMITED SEATING FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING - AND IS ALSO AVAILABLE ON ZOOM.

People are encouraged to love themselves, to believe in themselves, to tell themselves that they are beautiful, wonderful, intelligent and capable.  But as they gaze at their own reflections, they have to close one eye to the wrinkles and blemishes that also stare back at them.  The Bible does not emphasize self-love – although it does affirm our value as individuals.  Scripture tells us: “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment”.  What is “sober judgment”?  It is a realistic appraisal of who we are – both beauty and beast, wonderful and terrible, with strengths and weaknesses.  All of this should be a part of our self-esteem.  The  only proper mirror for seeing our true selves is God’s Word.  As we look in the pages of Scripture, we find much to affirm and encourage us.  We discover the astonishing fact that we are God’s artwork, the masterpiece of his creation.  We find the answer to our longings to be loved and accepted unconditionally.  Our spirits soar as we learn the wonder of what God intends us to become in Christ.

THIS STUDY MEETS WEDNESDAYS. Our weekly Wednesday morning study meets 10:00 a.m. in the Deli. You can join this study at any time. Childcare is not provided during this study. If you are interested in joining this Zoom Bible Study, please email womensministry@calvaryslc.org, and communicate which women's study you would like to join to receive the current link. God is loving and powerful. He is able to work against some of the strongest forces of hate in the world. We can imitate God's justice by fighting against these same powers in our own lives. Taking a fresh look at this theme throughout Scripture, these twelve studies show how God wants us to love justice too.

And what does the LORD require of you?

But to do justly, to love mercy,

And to walk humbly with your God!"
